Likeness is a video work about resemblance—between light and light, landscapes and memories, images and the associations they trigger. The title plays on multiple layers of meaning: likeness as similarity, like as something immediate and tactile, almost pop, and -ness as a state or condition.
The video explores shifting perspectives and visual echoes. Analog special effects and in-camera collages are created during the act of recording, blurring the boundary between documentation and construction. Images overlap, reflect, and respond to one another, forming temporary alignments rather than fixed narratives.
The footage was collected over several years during travels. Holographic sheets, sourced second-hand, become tools for transforming the image—bending light, fragmenting space, and introducing artificial reflections. Through these gestures, Likeness becomes a study of how similarities emerge: not as exact matches, but as fleeting states shaped by perception, memory, and imagination.
