gaze is a site-specific exhibition presented in an unconventional setting: an entire floor of a modernist office building from the 1960s in Anderlecht, Brussels. Conceived in close dialogue with the architecture of the building, the project unfolds through a series of kinetic installations that respond to its spatial rhythm, atmosphere, and panoramic views. Activated through mechanical systems or subtle interaction, the works introduce movement as a central element of perception, encouraging visitors to navigate the space through shifting visual and spatial relationships. Rather than functioning as a neutral backdrop, the surrounding cityscape becomes an integral component of the exhibition.

The opening of gaze was accompanied by performance by Marta Krześlak, unfolding within the exhibition space and activating the installations using light, shadow, small motors, and her own movement. She gradually activated elements of the installation, revealing shifting relationships between works. The performance treats the space as a dynamic system rather than a fixed exhibition setting. Light entering the building at sunset, reflections from the panoramic windows, and the movement of the artist with a headlamp makes the installations come into motion, transforming the atmosphere of the space and inviting the audience to experience the works as a continuously unfolding environment.
